About Michele Fortier

Michele Fortier has been working in the field of education for over 30 years. She is an experienced teacher, supervisor, mentor, and director. She has worked in for-profit, non-profit and family cooperative schools. She has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Studies: Administration, Management and Leadership from Walden University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from William Paterson University. Michele is an approved New Jersey Workforce Registry Master Instructor of Adults and Technical Assistance Specialist.

Michele has conducted parent workshops using the Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) materials and methods. Her workshops include a variety of topics such as the importance of block play, classroom management, anecdotal records, and how core values and personality strengths influence your interactions.

Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work with children from birth through high school. These experiences highlighted the importance of providing young children with a well thought out environment to explore at their own pace. Her Master’s Capstone project was focused on preserving play in the early childhood classroom. She has earned both Early Childhood and Elementary StandardTeaching Certificates.
